Edgy, chic, and bold...
Try a brightly colored pair of skinnys with a printed top! I love this combination because the gold feather details around the neckline contrast well with the hot pink jeans.
The booties add a bohemian style that add a casual twist to the look.
Straight or beachy hair fits well for this, and the hot pink lip ties into the jeans.
Be creative with jewelry if you want, but I prefer to dress more simply.
Whatever you're wearing today, rock it with confidence!

Quick Tip: Summer Nails
Have you seen the nail trend where one nail on each hand is a different color than the rest? It's perfect for summer, easy to do, and up for creativity!
Mix up the look with sparkles, patterns, and opposite colors to make this look your own.

Less is ALWAYS more...
Personally, I hate the feeling of heavy makeup on my face while I'm running in the heat or swimming on a toasty day. Not only does it clog my pores, but it also mixes with my sweat and runs off my face. Yum.
In order to avoid this summer makeup mayhem, try these tips for easier makeup and a brighter face this summer!
1. Vouch for little to no foundation. Try a tinted moisturizer or a BB cream. Lindsay loves the Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector B. B. Cream, but another great option is mineral makeup, which can survive sweating and even contact with water. If you want extra coverage with concealer, try a dry formula that will dry into the skin and top it off with a mineral-based powder.
2. Instead of powder blush, try using your tinted lip balm on your cheeks instead. Not only will this give your cheeks some color, but it will also add a healthy shine. Grandma wasn't kidding when she used her lipstick as blush--it really works!
Make sure your tinted lip balm has SPF in it for extra sun protection for both your lips and cheeks. My favorite is the tinted Nivea lip balms...Lindsay got me into those. ;)
3. A super important step is filling in your eyebrows! The thicker your eyebrows look, the younger you appear, so don't be afraid to fill them in a little more than normal for that boho look. Make sure only the amount of application changes, not the actual color. I suggest using powder and an angled brush for the most natural application.
4. Experiment with waterproof mascaras. There are lots of good options out there, but sometimes it can be a pain to spend a lot of money testing them out. I'd start with brands like Wet N' Wild or Rimmel, which I've heard have some great products despite their bad rep. I like Maybelline's Falsies a lot, but I know some people who it didn't do much for. That's why you have to play around with it and see what works well for you!
5. Invest in a bronzer that makes you look glowing, NOT orange. A good rule of thumb is to trust products that are a little more pricey to give a better glow; sometimes the cheaper bronzers are oompa loompas in a pot. I suggest using a bronzer in the hollows of your cheeks and along the jaw line for that "sun-kissed glow" everyone is talking about. :)
Mix and match these tips this summer for a fresh looking face...not to mention less time in front of the mirror and more time for the important things in life. :)
Don't forget sunscreen!
Remember that makeup isn't a necessity...it's just an accessory, an art form, a way to be creative.
YOU TELL ME:
What do you think of this summer's fashions? Too hippie, or just earthy enough?

Introducing: Addie the Blogger
Hi, lovelies! My name is Addie, and I am the newest addition to the Laer Couture community.
As a makeup lover and amateur writer, beauty blogging just seems to fit into my plethora of hobbies. Even so, when Lindsay and I created Laer Couture months ago, we weren't exactly sure how I would fit into the picture. Something clicked, though, and we decided that writing the blog would be a perfect fit for me. I have moved from secretary to Blogger. That's right! With a capital B. ;)
You can expect lots of reviews, updates, and makeup tips from me as well as little tidbits of randomness that I'm compelled to share. Don't worry, Lindsay will still be writing to you, but everyone needs a little help. :)
Please like our Facebook page, follow us on Twitter, subscribe to our YouTube channel, and FOLLOW OUR BLOG!
Excited to be a Blogger with a capital B,
Addie

Coffee..
Good Morning to you :)
I'm just sitting at my desk sipping coffee out of the cutest travel coffee mug ever. Thought I'd update my blog for the few faithful readers <3
So have you checked out my "This or That Tag" yet? I wouldn't blame you if you started and couldn't sit through the whole thing...22 minutes?? That's the length of a half-hour TV show without the commercials! I edited that poor video to death but just couldn't squeeze anything else out of it. I guess I'm a lot like Blair Fowler in that way..I tried to talk less, but it's just not me! I'll try to make them shorter in the future, but it just takes practice, haha. But I really enjoyed talking about all of the questions!
I have a few ideas for upcoming videos, and I'm gonna do a poll on this blog to see which ones are the most popular..after my next video or two, I'll link the blog in the video so more people might see it! Let me know any thoughts, and thanks for watching/reading/commenting :) Much love!
xoxo,

Hula Girl Video!
Hello everyone!
Lindsay here, and I've been trying to keep up on videos and blog posts among other responsibilities. Laer Couture doesn't have many viewers, subscribers, or blog readers yet, but we're trying to get some good stuff out there to attract more of them!
So at any rate, the most recent look I did was the hula girl. I love this look! The only part that I didn't think was up to par was the grass skirt made out of the garbage bag and streamers..but as I explained in the video, it should definitely be layered to get the full grass skirt effect and not be able to see your pants underneath. But I wasn't going to waste multiple garbage bags to show that, especially since I probably won't use it again. But if you want to be a hula girl for Halloween, the garbage bag skirt is an inexpensive and resourceful way to make a costume :) The makeup is super simple, and inspired by the tropical flowers and scenery in Hawaii. Leis are very cheap and easy to find, and I'm pretty sure everyone owns a solid colored t-shirt and a pair of flip-flops. Be creative, get inspired and have fun! Happy Halloween!
xoxo,
Lindsay <3

5 Last Minute Costume Ideas! (Late)
Hi guys!
Hope everyone liked the "5 Last Minute Costume Ideas" video that Lindsay did! This post is over due, but here are some pictures of the 5 looks. :)
Look #1: Nerd!
Hope everyone liked the "5 Last Minute Costume Ideas" video that Lindsay did! This post is over due, but here are some pictures of the 5 looks. :)
Look #1: Nerd!
It's simple, just a few accessories that you can find in your own home!
Look #2: Ninja!
This simple ninja look requires just a few things, a black shirt, (preferably turtle neck) black pants, black shoes, and a black shirt to create the head-piece...and don't forget your black gloves like I did! This look was much inspired by Michelle Phan's ninja look and pretty much the easiest Halloween costume ever. Check out her explaining how to create the t-shirt head-piece thingy-ma-bob!
Look #3: Hairstylist!
This isn't a very popular look, but I think it's cute and original :) Just have an apron with pockets, a few hair tools, and some aluminum foil!
Look #4: Eskimo!
I love this costume! Where I live, it gets pretty cold in fall, and we (my cousins and sister and I) always have to cover up our cute costumes with a big coat! Not with this look :) The makeup is super cute and unique, and the costume just requires any snow gear that you most likely already own! Not to mention, you'll stay comfy and cozy warm all night long.
Finally, Look #5: Cowgirl!
This is probably my favorite look of the video, and it can work on any age! I think the freckles give it just the right touch, and the makeup is very soft and girly. Add your cowgirl hat and lasso rope, and you're ready to go!
I hope you enjoyed these fun Halloween looks! Last minute costumes like these can be a life-saver, and I hope they help you out :) Check out the video on our channel to see more in-depth explanation of any of these costumes! http://www.youtube.com/user/laercouture?feature=mhee#p/u/1/K5J_H00KV1Q

Lindsay <3
